AFD, deliverers of flag and American Football coaching across the South East, have today announced a new addition to their team, and it looks like he’s going to be a bit of a handful!
Arriving this week is our new ‘Little Rascal’ ball, suitable for the smallest of hands and will allow children from a pre-school age the chance to get their first touchdown!
The new ball, which is manufactured by Baden and is exclusively available to AFD in the UK, is just over seven and a half inches in length and is in a bright array of red, white and blue colours.
“We are delighted to be introducing the ‘Little Rascal’ ball to the UK,” says Gur Samuel, managing director of AFD Limited. “Since we started our coaching operation three years ago, we have seen more and more people start their American Football journeys at a younger age, and it seems appropriate that we continue to lead the way by introducing age appropriate products.”
Having been coaching flag football in primary schools over the last few years, earlier this year, AFD launched its new program, Touchdown Time, which is specifically designed for children from the age four upwards. This multi skills program helps children take their first journey towards playing American Football but also teaches catching, throwing, running and jumping as well as dance movements which could be transferred into a variety of sports.
The ‘Little Rascal’ gained its name through a competition on social media and was selected as the winning name by the AFD directors. Tracy Stubbs, who named the ball, will be the first recipient of a ‘Little Rascal’ while the ball will be available on the AFD website from July. Priced at £7.50 including VAT, it will be the perfect accompaniment to the summer holiday fun!
