AFD, deliverers of flag football coaching across the South-East of England are today launching a new support service for American Football clubs.

The new Club Support Service will look to help American Football clubs in a variety of ways, utilising the skills and expertise within the team at AFD. Whether that is helping secure funding or marketing support, the service will help and grow clubs across the country.

Gur Samuel, Managing Director for AFD Limited commented: “We know how difficult it can be for clubs to expand financially even though the demand to play is growing all the time.

Juggling running a club, working and having coaching, playing or officiating roles can often mean having the time to work on funding bids isn’t always there, let alone the skill to write them. We can offer clubs a fully managed service, taking them through every part of the process including ordering and arranging logistics of equipment supplies once funds have been secured.

Glenn Lindley, Chairman for East Kent Mavericks has worked with AFD over the last eighteen months and is currently working on a Sport England grant with AFD for the side. “The relationship we have with AFD has really helped us grow as a club locally. Opening up coaching in schools has brought a new generation of players hungry for the game, while providing us with the resource through coach education, facility hire and equipment to meet our additional needs.”

With 59% of clubs across all sports in the UK saying they are unable to expand due to lack of funds, the expertise through the club support service AFD provides will be valuable to clubs and to the development of the sport in the UK.
