Following the launch of AFD’s Club Support Scheme at the end of 2016, the organisation has generated over £120,000 of funding into the sport in less than twelve months.
Looking at ways to help more clubs and schools grow their organisations AFD, the UK’s leading American Football coaching company, created the Club Support Scheme to help teams get the funding boost to match their organisation’s ambitions.
Over the last year, the money that has been awarded in grants has seen the creation of a new junior American Football club, the expansion of a women’s program in an established club, a new university program begin as well as a school start it’s very own American Football team from scratch as well as many many more projects.
“The Club Support Scheme has been a terrific success,” said Gur Samuel, Managing Director of AFD Limited. “It has been so heartening to see more people able to get involved in the game, allow more training for coaches, more equipment for players and see more and more people come and enjoy our great game. We are already excited about how much more we can do in the next twelve months.”
One such organisation who have benefited from AFD’s Club Support Scheme is Kent Exiles. Club Treasurer Martin Jefkins commented: “The interest in American Football continues to grow in Bromley, Orpington, Dartford and the surrounding areas. While we have a great volunteer workforce we lacked the resource to be able to take advantage of the new participation levels.
AFD really helped us in focusing our applications needs into the right areas, writing the bid with us and answering any queries along the way. With the club committee juggling full time jobs and running the club, their support took the pressure off while getting us the funds we desperately needed to expand.”
Could your team qualify for help with funding? It doesn’t just have to be for expansion, you could also look for funding support to help grow your team too through recruitment programs.
