Fun, amazing and awesome were just some of the comments from participants of the AFD Summer Camp, held at Royal Harbour Academy yesterday.

AFD Limited, who provide American football to schools, clubs and community programs across the UK saw children journey from across Kent for the one day course in Ramsgate. A mixture of skills were on show, with some new to the game, while others play regularly in club sides, but all with a willingness to learn more and get involved.

Gur Samuel, Managing Director of AFD Limited said: “It was fantastic to see both new and returning faces from previous camps in Ramsgate yesterday.

“We had a range of ages and abilities but in the true inclusivity of the sport, all players worked together, supported one another and everyone had a role to play. It is so heartening to see both players and the game develop in the county.”

As well as the growth of players, AFD has also seen a growth in coaches and this week a new group of coaches were trained to be able to deliver AFD’s 6Flag™ and 8Flag® codes across the country.

“We’ll be coaching in a host of new schools come September so we very much need to expand our workforce and are increasingly looking for more coaches to join us on our journey to bring flag football to children across the country,” continued Gur Samuel.

The camp was supported by AFD’s clothing supporters Viper 10 and nine year old Sam Dellar was voted Camp MVP by the coaching staff for his all round development during the day and his overall willingness to build and learn.
