In addition to the schools coaching, AFD has also launched its own inter-school competitions.

Our tournament days are great for competing against other schools or even for taking your first steps into the game.

We present one day skills and tournament days for children at KS2 level or KS3/4 playing our 6Flag or 8Flag games. With spaces for up to six schools or teams on each tournament day, we take you through the fundamentals of the game, showing you a range of skills before going into game play and the chance to be the ultimate champions!

ThThanet Schools Dayanet Primary Teachers were initially introduced to American Flag Football,  through a workshop organised by the School Games Organiser as part of  a PE Subject Lead Networking meeting and from this the Flag Football  Development Day evolved.  The day started with flag football basic coaching such as throwing and catching to a festival played in the afternoon.    The coaches were enthusiastic and knowledgeable and both the staff and children thoroughly enjoyed the day, which was oversubscribed from the outset.  We have already booked another Flag Football Festival for 2017 and look forward to getting more children in Thanet involved in Flag.
